Mustang Creek Estates in Sachse is looking for a Full-Time Activities Assistant dedicated to our Memory Care residents.

The Activity Assistant is responsible for the coordination, development and implementation of a stimulating activity program that encompasses the physical, social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of the Memory Care homes. The Activity Assistant will ensure that all activity standards and expectations are followed throughout the homes and encourage a warm, loving and fulfilling environment for all residents.

• Activities Program
  • Maintain a balanced resident-centered activity program for the whole community.
  • Facilitate Memory Care activities according to the approved and posted schedule and in conjunction with each resident’s activity assessment.
  • Attend at least 6 hours of continuing education regarding Alzheimer’s disease or related disorders on an annual basis.
  • Assess, plan, and manage a comprehensive activities program using team members and volunteers.
  • Engage and motivate residents' participation in activity programming.
  • Recruit entertainers and schedule special events.
• Mealtime Assistance
  • The Activity Assistant is required to assist in lunch and dinner with the residents.
  • Help serve, assist with resident needs throughout meal service.
  • Maintain the safety of residents during mealtime.
• Family Satisfaction
  • Observe resident satisfaction within activity programming and look for opportunities to engage family members for feedback regarding resident preferences and capabilities.
  • Communicate with the Executive Director, Activity Director and with families regarding the successes and challenges while facilitating activities.
• Activity Budget Management
  • Review and plan monthly budget with the Activity Director and ensure that all activities stay within the budget.

This position is a full-time position and the hours are 10am to 6pm Tuesday through Saturday. In addition, this position may require holiday and weekend coverage.
